The two hour season premiere of America’s Got Talent airs this evening (NBC, 8 pm et/pt), and judge Howie Mandel explains why the program is still a popular staple. “We’re the only show in competitive talent shows that have no rules, no age restrictions, and there is nothing you can’t do, which opens the door to phenomenal brilliance,” says the Deal Or No Deal host. “And crazy delusion.”
Howie Mandel explains why America’s Got Talent should not be lumped in with shows like American Idol, The Voice, or the Fox program The X Factor.
Mandel is also featured in a series of web videos (www.Facebook.com/RedBaronPizza), which has the entertainer showing families the value of Red Baron’s Pan Pizza over the average delivery pizza (the web series runs through June 15th). “Through my experience, I’ve been able to witness America negotiate the best deals for themselves,” said Mandel in a statement. “My family eats a lot, so I identify with the mission to show people how they’re being tricked every time they order a pizza or delivery. Wait for a cold, pricey and lesser quality delivery pizza when I could have Red Baron Pan Pizza fresh from my own oven in 30 minutes? No deal.”
