MORGAN SPURLOCK SELLS OUT FOR ‘THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER SOLD’

Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, best known for his 2004 documentary Super Size Me, aims his critical eye on the insidious nature of product placement with POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold. The picture is sponsored by 17 companies, including POM Wonderful, Carrera, Hyatt, Jet Blue, Old Navy, and Movietickets.com.

“I think the film does an incredible job of pulling the curtain back,” said Spurlock, who was inspired to make this documentary after watching a Heroes episode which, in his words, featured a ‘less than subtle inclusion of the Nissan Rogue into the show’s storyline.’  “Literally a veil is lifted from your eyes.  The rose colored glasses come off.  You literally for the first time see things in a completely different way.  It changes the way you watch TV.  You will never look at a Hollywood movie the same way again.  And I think that level of awareness is a great thing.”

‘PREGNANT IN HEELS’ STAR ROSIE POPE DESCRIBES HER WORST CUSTOMERS

NUP_141745_0860 One of maternity concierge and pregnancy guru’s Rosie Pope’s greatest assets rests on her extremely frank nature (favorite Pope quote from last week: “I’m sorry, did she say day husband or gay husband?”).

During an interview at the NBCUniversal press day, Pope talked about what makes a horrible client.  “My worst customer is honestly someone who doesn’t really care about being a good parent,” said Pope, who moved from London to New York when she was 18.  “I know people think I’m joking when I say this, but I really do believe that under all of this stuff, parenting is the universal equalizer and they want to be better parents.  So if I find a client who really doesn’t care and is only interested in their celebration and it being all about them and it being one big ‘me’ show, that’s what I find impossible.  At the end of the day they are going to have a baby and take the baby home and they’re going to be parents.  And they could ruin somebody’s life.  So to me it’s really serious if they don’t get that. That’s the worst customer for me.”

THE SECRET TO CEE LO GREEN’S SUCCESS: “I HAVE NOT BEEN STANDING STILL”

NUP_144015_0094.JPG During his prodigious career, Cee Lo Green has been a member of an acclaimed rap group (Goodie Mob), collaborated on two albums with Danger Mouse under the moniker Gnarls Barkley, and released his successful solo album The Lady Killer (which featured the hit song ‘F**k You’) last year.  Green told us that the secret to his success lies in his proactive nature.

“I believe that each artistic outing or endeavor is an act of faith.  I do not believe that the many things that I’ve been inspired by or affected by and have acted upon have been in vain,” said Green.  “So of course if there is an action there will be a reaction and then the cycle continues.  So I have been proactive.  I have not been passive.  I have not been standing still.”
