While everyone else is still shocked by Pia Toscano getting sent home from American Idol Thursday night, Randy Jackson has been down this road before.

Sure, he’s as bent as everyone else, but Jackson has also seen how far those eliminated contestants can go after they leave the competition.

“I know,” he acknowledges, but then adds quickly. “But, I’m telling you, it never gets easy. It’s hard every single time.”

Jackson has strong advice for fans of the show, if they want their fav to stay, they better get that fast finger dialing going on after each competition round.

“No one’s safe,” he admonishes. “You saw Jacob (Lusk) in the bottom. Somebody great is going to go every week. You’ve got to vote.”
