In a shocking upset, Pia Toscano was eliminated from the American Idol competition Thursday night. You could see how upset the judges were with the decision – Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler were all mouths agape while shaking their heads right after the results of the vote were read.

Toscano is honored by their reaction of course, even though at the time, she didn’t see much of anything.

“It was a blur to me because I was just trying to keep myself composed,” she admits. “To have that support especially from Jennifer, Steven and Randy – three people that I’ve looked up to forever – it’s amazing.”

Toscano has learned much during her Idol adventure from the coaches as well as the other contestants. Her self-assurance has only grown, which has been the best lesson as Toscano transitions into her new jumpstarted music career.

“Back at home I always struggled with the whole confidence thing and getting stage fright and getting nervous,” she begins. “The fact that I went out every week – I’m most proud of that.”
