Marc Anthony – Jennifer Lopez’s sexy husband – has been performing live for nearly three decades. So, when the production of American Idol was having audio problems, they called him in to offer his expertise.
“Whenever you see a singer off key, it’s not that they’re not capable, it’s not that they’re having a bad night, it’s ‘cause they can’t hear themselves,” Anthony points out. “They called me into see if that could be addressed and I think we did. I was so proud when I went home and watched it. We didn’t hear pitchy once.”
Anthony couldn’t help but notice that the contestants were elated to see him. He knows the impact of seeing him was important to them…and rewarding for him as well.
“It makes you feel so lucky that these kids’ dream is to be where I’m at,” he acknowledges. “To make a living and be able to support themselves doing what I do. It makes me feel really, really fortunate.”
Anthony is currently working on his first English album in the last 10 years – and is also about to begin production as a recurring guest star on the TNT series Hawthorne starring opposite Jada Pinkett-Smith.
“I signed onto do seven episodes,” he explains. “I’m so excited about that. Working with Jada is an absolute dream. The Smith family…they’ve been friends for years and I’m really, really looking forward to that.”
