It’s Brick’s (Atticus Shaffer) birthday on tonight’s episode of The Middle (8:00 p.m. ET/PT, ABC) and it looks like we’re going to get a bit more information about his birth.

At least that’s what co-stars, Charlie McDermott and Eden Sher tell us at HollywoodOutbreak.com.

McDermott and Sher play Brick’s brother Axl and sister Sue on the series, so they should know what’s in store…though it’s still unclear whether Brick will get an answer to his birth tale or not.

“No one’s told him about the day he was born is the premise,” Sher begins. “That’s all he wants for his birthday,” McDermott adds. “It’s a Heck mystery,” Sher laughs.

Both actors haven’t had the chance to hear too much from fans regarding the impact of their on-screen characters. They tell us the hours are long and mixing it up with the masses doesn’t happen too often because of their hectic schedules. Still, every now and then, McDermott and Sher do get that all-important feedback direct from the audience.

“I’m from Philadelphia and I’ve got cousins in Indiana,” McDermott states. “People there really like the show a lot and they really seem pretty excited to meet Axl.”

“The hours we work, if I’m not there, I’m literally sleeping,” Sher adds. “The feedback that I’m least hearing of is very simple. It’s, ‘I love Sue. Sue is great! Sue is me! Sue is me!’ I like hearing Sue is me.”

It’s probably a good bet Sue is like most every high school student.
