It’s down to seven in the makeup category for the Oscar race this year.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the films still in the running for an Academy Award nomination are:

District 9, Il Divo, The Imaginarium of Doctor Pernassus, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, The Road, Star Trek and The Young Victoria.

All the members of the Academy’s Makeup Branch will be invited to check out 10-minute excerpts from the seven remaining films still in consideration. The members will actually vote directly following the screenings to nominate three of those movies for Academy Award consideration.

The Oscar noms will be announced Tuesday, February 2nd – in the wee hours of the morning – 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy’s Sam Goldwin Theater.

The Academy Awards will be presented March 7th, and broadcast live from the Kodak Theatre on ABC to over 200 countries.
