‘Ted’ Star Mila Kunis Not Afraid To Experiment With Many Genres

mila_kunis_ted_As word hits that the quirky comedy TED continues to rack up major receipts on a global basis (over $280 m worldwide), rumors abound that a sequel is already in the works and being fast-tracked for release next year. The feature film directorial debut of FAMILY GUY creator SETH MacFARLANE, TED tells the off-beat (and surprisingly good-hearted) story of a seemingly normal man whose childhood wish that his beloved teddy bear would spring to life actually comes true in the form of a foul-mouthed, pot-smoking, skirt-chasing stuffed plushie. Written by MacFARLANE (who additionally provides the voice of the titular bear), the film also stars MARK WAHLBERG, MILA KUNIS, GIOVANNI RIBISI, JESSICA STROUP and ALEX BORSTEIN.
A long-time MacFARLANE collaborator, MILA KUNIS is fearless in choosing roles that range from the ridiculous (EXTRACT) to the sublime (BLACK SWAN). During our recent interview, KUNIS talked about her interest in all genres of storytelling and then proved it by listing her upcoming credits. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)

HBO: Entourage Movie Still In The Works

1An Entourage movie has been talked about for several years, but maybe its disappointing final season led to a slight loss of momentum for the possible film project.  The writing was sub par during the final episodes, and Entourage lost a bit of its sardonic and pointed edge as the writers tried to wrap everything up in a nice little bow.

Yesterday at HBO’s portion of the Television Critics Association Press Tour, HBO president of programming Michael Lombardo gave an update on the Entourage movie.  Personally, I’d be surprised if it ever gets done, but if I am proven wrong, let’s just hope it embodies the carefree spirit of the earlier seasons.  (Click on the media bar to hear Michael Lombardo)

‘Ted’ Star Mila Kunis Resists Being Tagged ‘Funny’

mila-kunis-premiere-ted-01Currently in theaters, TED is the feature film directorial debut of FAMILY GUY creator SETH MacFARLANE and tells the off-beat (and surprisingly good-hearted) story of a seemingly normal man whose childhood wish that his beloved teddy bear would spring to life actually comes true in the form of a foul-mouthed, pot-smoking, skirt-chasing stuffed plushie. First introduced to television audiences on the long-running sitcom THAT 70’S SHOW, KUNIS divides her time between dramatic roles (THE BOOK OF ELI, BLACK SWAN) and comedies (FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS, EXTRACT) but insists that, despite being able to deliver a punch line, she doesn’t think of herself as particularly funny. Good-Hearted ‘Ted’ Tops Weekend Box Office Despite R-Rating

seth-macfarlaneCurrently in theaters and at the top of the weekend box office chart, TED is the feature film directorial debut of FAMILY GUY creator (and equal-opportunity offender) SETH MacFARLANE and tells the off-beat story of a teddy bear who comes to life as a foul-mouthed, pot-smoking, skirt-chasing plushie invading the life of his grown-up owner. The film easily slips into humor that could offend almost anyone and, rightfully, has an R rating from the MPAA. Written by MacFARLANE (who also provides the voice of the titular bear), the cast features MARK WAHLBERG, MILA KUNIS, GIOVANNI RIBISI, JESSICA STROUP and ALEX BORSTEIN.
During a recent press conference, MacFARLANE admitted that TED deserved its R-rating but argued that it was all for language and the actual content was more tame than his FAMILY GUY television series. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO) LANGUAGE NSFW!
