Tonight, one of the best comedies of the last decade comes to an end when How I Met Your Mother airs its series finale at 8/7 central on CBS, after nine seasons.
The cast, which includes Neil Patrick Harris,Cobie Smulders,Alyson Hannigan, Josh Radnor, and Jason Segel, really didn’t know each other very well before they began working on the series together. But over the past nine years, they have all became close friends. During one of the last interviews the cast did together, they all spoke about the early days of the show and how their friendship progressed throughout the years.
Easily one of Hollywood’s most likable and disarming leading men, Vince Vaughn didn’t exactly hit it out of the park this summer with The Internship, but he has another shot later this year with Delivery Man.
A remake of the charming and surprisingly touching comedy Starbuck, Delivery Man centers on a slacker (Vince Vaughn) who just can’t get his life together. When he discovers that his stint as a sperm donor yielded 533 kids, he decides to take an active part in a few of their lives.
Chris Pratt (Zero Dark Thirty) co-stars as Vaughn’s best friend, a family man/lawyer who tries to keep his buddy from falling over the proverbial cliff, and How I Met Your Mother’s Cobie Smulders plays the prodigious daddy’s long suffering soulmate.
From the looks of the trailer, Delivery Man follows Starbuck almost note by note (the movies are both directed by Ken Scott), but that shouldn’t be such a bad thing. Expect this movie to find a wider audience than The Internship, The Watch, and The Dilemma. I really loved Starbuck, and I’m sure Delivery Man won’t disappoint.
Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of checking out the charming comedy Starbuck, a feature directed by Ken Scott about a slacker (Patrick Huard) who discovers he’s the father of 533 kids thanks to his past exploits as a sperm donor.
That picture has now been made, with Scott once again directing, as Delivery Man. For more info on the director’s decision to keep the new version “authentic,” check out our previous post on Starbuck, which you can find here.
Today DreamWorks released a teaser trailer on Fandango for Delivery Man, and although I will always have a slight bias towards the original material, this iteration actually looks promising. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think!
Delivery Man, co-starring Chris Pratt and Cobie Smulders, opens November 22nd.
Hot on the heels of the massive success of THE AVENGERS, Marvel Studios used its time at San Diego ComicCon 2012 to confirm two new films and sneak preview footage from the currently shooting IRON MAN 3. Sequels to last year’s THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA will be titled THE DARK WORLD and THE WINTER SOLDIER, respectively, and new films will focus on ANT-MAN and the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY.
The IRON MAN panel consisted of JON FAVREAU, SHANE BLACK, DON CHEADLE, ROBERT DOWNEY JR. and KEVIN FEIGE. During the audience Q & A, DOWNEY responded to a question about finding the IRON MAN character by giving props to BLACK and their film KISS KISS BANG BANG for landing the superhero role.
