‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Is Box Office Champ With Disappointing $45 Million Weekend

TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT

Transformers: The Last Knight was the #1 film over the weekend but unfortunately the film made just $45.3 million. Its five day domestic haul was a franchise low $69.1 million, but thankfully its international take is at $196 million. Coming in second was Cars 3 with $25.1 million. Here’s this weekend’s top 10:

1.Transformers: The Last Knight – Could a lackluster domestic opening signal the death knell of the franchise? $45.3 million

2. Cars 3 – $25.1 million

3. Wonder Woman – The flick has grossed over $650 million worldwide. This weekend it makes $25.1 million

4. 47 Meters Down Mandy Moore shark film makes $7.4 million

5. All Eyez On Me – $5.85 million

6. The MummyTom Cruise misfire makes $5.8 million and domestically it has yet to reach the $100 million mark (it’s at $68 million).

7. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – $5.2 million

8. Rough Night Scarlett Johansson comedy collects $4.7 million. Domestically, the movie has made just$16.6 million.

9. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie – $4.3 million

10. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – $3 million

‘Cars 3’ Drives To First With $53 Million Box Office Debut

Cars 3 had an excellent box office debut with a $53.5 million opening besting Wonder Woman which still had an amazing #2 outing with $40.8 million. The Tupac Shakur drama All Eyez On Me also had a solid weekend with a #3 finish ($27.1 million). Here’s this weekend’s top 10:

1. Cars 3 – $53.5 million

2. Wonder Woman – Another great weekend with $40,8 million and to date it’s amassed over $275 million domestically.

3. All Eyez On Me – Featuring Demetrius Shipp Jr. as Tupac, the flick made $27.1 million in its opening weekend.

4. The Mummy – With just $13.9 million, this flick is one of Tom Cruise’s biggest box office disappointments.

5. 47 Meters Down – $11.5 million

6. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – To date the flick has made $150.1 million domestically. This weekend it takes in $8.5 million

7. Rough Night – $8.1 million

8. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie – $7.4 million

9. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – $5 million

10. It Comes At Night – First rate thriller takes in $2.6 million

‘Wonder Woman’ Pummels ‘The Mummy’ With $57.2 Million Weekend

It was simply no competition as Wonder Woman smashed The Mummy into submission with a $57.2 million weekend. The Mummy, which launches Universal’s Dark Universe line, was a distant second with $32.2 million but has done solid business overseas ($141 million). Here’s this weekend’s top 10:

1. Wonder Woman – $57.2 million

2. The Mummy – $32.2 million

3. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie – $12.3 million

4. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – $10.7 million

5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – $6.2 million

6. It Comes At Night – First rate thriller starring Joel Edgerton makes $6 million in its debut weekend.

7. Baywatch – With just $51 million amassed domestically, this comedy is a box office misfire for The Rock. This weekend, it takes in $4.6 million

8. Megan Leavey Kate Mara headlined indie drama collects $3.8 million.

9. Alien: Covenant – The picture is one of this year’s biggest box office disappointments as it’s made just $71 million domestically. This weekend, it collects a meager $1.8 million

10. Everything, Everything – $1.6 million

‘Wonder Woman’ Smashes Box Office Comers With $100 Million Weekend

Wonder Woman made history over the weekend with its $100.5 million debut, as the flick is the biggest box office opening for a female director (the film was helmed by Monster director Patty Jenkins). Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie had a solid opening weekend with a #2 debut ($23.5 million) with Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales coming in at the #3 slot ($21.6 million). Here’s this weekend’s top 10:

1. Wonder Woman – It opens domestically $100.5 million and has a worldwide gross of $223 million!

2. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie – $23.5 million

3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – $21.6 million

4. Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 – $9.7 million

5. BaywatchDwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s latest is a box office misfire. This weekend it collects $8.5 million

6. Alien: Covenant – The sci-fi thriller ends up being a box-office disappointment, as it’s made just $67 million domestically. This weekend it takes in $4 million

7. Everything, Everything – $3.3 million

8. Snatched – $1.8 million

9. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul – Family flick makes just $1.2 million and to date its collected just $17.8 million domestically.

10. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword – Movie makes $1.1 million and had amassed a paltry $37 million domestically.
