As Hollywood has proven time and time again, sometimes a new spin is all that’s needed to revive an old idea. The Archie comics are more than 70 years old, yet The CW is having great success with Riverdale, a drama series based on Archie Andrews and his friends in their seemingly perfect small town. With over seven decades’ worth of canon to work with, the show has a lot of options for developing its stories and its characters. For example, there have been several different versions of the character Jughead through the years, and we talked to Cole Sprouse — the actor who plays him on Riverdale— to find out which version he’s trying to channel in his performance.
