Based on Jo Nesbø’s bestselling novel, the Oslo set thriller The Snowman is director Tomas Alfredson’s first film since 2011’s acclaimed Tinker Tailor Solder Spy. The story centers on Harry Hole (Michael Fassbender), a hard drinking detective who’s on the trail of a serial killer and Oscar winning actor J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) plays a wealthy industrialist who may be a central figure into the investigations.
“This film will be very involving for an audience and be full of surprises and shockingly gruesome surprises in some cases” said Simmons, who also starred opposite Ben Affleck in the twist-driven thriller The Accountant. “But intelligent, interesting surprises as well. Certainly it’s not a movie for the faint of heart.”
