In today’s TV landscape, the old adage rings true — everything old is new again. In the last few years, we’ve seen reboots of old shows like Hawaii Five-O, Beverly Hills 90210, and MacGyver. This season brings The CW’s new version of Dynasty and a CBS remake of ’70s cop show S.W.A.T. Of course, these days, people are more likely to remember the S.W.A.T. name from the 2003 movie, which starred Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Farrell. But former Criminal Minds star Shemar Moore, who’s leading up the new S.W.A.T. cast, says he isn’t thinking about the show as a remake, because the issues it will be tackling will be coming straight from today’s headlines. (Click on the media bar below to hear Shemar Moore)

S.W.A.T. premieres November 2 on CBS.
