In the supernatural series Midnight, Texas Francois Arnaud plays Manfred, a psychic who’s on the run and seeking a little shelter. The term out of the frying pan and into the fire applies to Arnaud’s journey, as Midnight is a town where a vampire (Peter Mensah), assassin (Arielle Kebbel), angel (Jason Lewis), and a werewolf (Yul Vázquez) reside.
Arnaud credits Midnight, Texas writer/producer Monica Breen for immediately setting the right tone for the show. “I think from the moment I read the script I knew it had a very specific voice in the dialogue particularly,” said Arnaud. “I didn’t have a huge experience with network television but I had done something on Blindspot and I read a lot. I auditioned for Constantine, and oftentimes you feel like you’re fighting against the dialogue just to make it work. Monica’s ear is so good and very quickly after the pilot I felt she was listening to what we were doing. Very soon, I felt like she started writing for us – I would read a line that was specifically written for my delivery (laughs). It just feels right.”
