NBC’s singing competition, The Voice, has been a fan favorite, generating solid ratings in each of its first 12 seasons. One thing it hasn’t done, though, is discover any Grammy winners or million-selling artists. When the show returns for its 13th season, maybe the two new judges can help put an end to that drought. After all, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson are both artists who found critical and commercial acclaim after having their careers jump-started by a TV singing competition. Both of the American Idol alumni will be able to bring their real-life experiences to the judges’ table, and Hudson told us she’s thrilled to give aspiring artists the kind of advice that helped her succeed.
