It’s been 35 years since the original Blade Runner movie was released. Starring Harrison Ford and directed by Ridley Scott, it became one of the iconic films of its era, helping to redefine the way sci-fi action movies were made. After decades of speculation, the long-awaited sequel is on its way: Blade Runner 2049, directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival), hits theaters in October. While Ford and Edward James Olmos reprise their roles from the original, they’ll be joined by Ryan Gosling and Oscar winner Jared Leto. So you’ve got a nod to the old, along with elements that are brand new. And Gosling told us that fans of the first movie won’t be disappointed, because the new movie doesn’t try to rewrite Blade Runner’s history. (Click on the media bar below to hear Ryan Gosling)

Check out the new Blade Runner 2049 trailer and the films opens October 6.
