With most RPG titles the class systems are relegated to fighters (warriors, archers) and illusionists (wizards, mages). The Elder Scrolls universe, however, is not stuck in a two dimensional, predictable construct, and their thinking outside the box aesthetic is evidenced with the recent introduction of the Warden class.
The moniker usually conjures up a person who oversees a prison, but with The Elder Scrolls: Online Morrowind, Wardens are in tune with nature. This class defends and protects the environment and denizens of Tamriel with healing and attack powers. Whether it’s freezing an adversary with ice or summoning an intimidating War Bear, these Wardens seem like, as the trailer suggests, a formidable group.
With the game, players are tasked with returning to Morrowind and saving the land from impending destruction. Seyda Neen and Vivec City, areas covered in The Elder Scrolls III, are also featured in the upcoming game, which also features new enemies, armor, and weapons to encounter. A new PVP mode titled “Battlegrounds,” which was showcased at this year’s PAX East, is also featured in The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind.
