Dan Stevens, who can currently be seen in FX’s ambitiously surreal Legion, has another interesting project just around the corner. In The Ticket, the Downton Abbey vet plays James, a blind man who inexplicably regains his vision.
Instead of deepening his faith or embarking on a enriching, humanistic journey, James chases the American Dream of materialistic success. Climbing the corporate ladder and increasing your financial assets are all fine and dandy, but as the trailer suggests James’ relationships with his wife (Malin Akerman) and close friend (Oliver Platt) are going south. Kerry Bishé, cast member of the highly underrated series Halt and Catch Fire, co-stars in the feature.
Directed by Ido Fluk (Never Too Late), The Ticket had its world premiere at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival. Shout! Factory Films, the studio behind such excellent features as Beauty and the Beast (the Christophe Gans version) and Long Way North, are the distributors behind the project. Hopefully The Ticket continues Shout! Factory Films’ creative momentum.
The Ticket opens in select cities April 7th. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think!
