The safe best is that many moviegoers will be spending their hard earned cash on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but for movie buffs who are not into wizardry a couple of movies may be worth a look.

On this week’s CinemAddicts podcast, we review The Edge of Seventeen, a teen comedy/drama that refreshingly doesn’t pull its punches. Nadine (Hailee Steinfeld, giving another great performance), is an anti-social teenager whose life takes a turn for the worse after her best friend (Haley Lu Richardson) starts dating her brother (Blake Jenner). Woody Harrelson gives a subtle yet scene stealing performance as the teacher who helps Nadine guide her way through her various crises.

Miles Teller gives a dialed in and effective performance as pugilist Vinny Pazienza in Bleed for This, a project that marks director Ben Younger’s (Boiler Room) first film since 2005’s Prime. Though this movie does have its flaws, the performances, as well as the chance to learn about Pazienza’s inspiring life story, makes this a worthy enough watch.

We continue our Nicolas Cage fixation with the recent Blu-ray/DVD release Army of One and Anderson Cowan’s two streaming picks are 13th and The Club.
