malala2 Filmmaker Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth) focuses on the life of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai in the documentary He Named Me Malala. Severely wounded after being shot in the head while heading home in Pakistan’s Swat Valley, Malala was just 15 during this life shaping incident. Singled out for advocating the importance of education for girls, Malala survived the attack and continues to promote this universal cause as co-founder of the Malala Fund.

The movie documents Malala’s journey into worldwide prominence while also giving an inside look at her daily life. Whether it’s giving rousing speeches at the UN and inspiring millions or seeking the comforts of home, Malala is an inspiring individual whose voice continues to resonate on an international level.
