Ben Affleck can be very proud tonight. His film Argo won Best Picture, garnering him his second Academy Award (his first was back in 1998 for writing Good Will Hunting with Matt Damon). Despite not being nominated for best director, which disappointed him, Affleck said that he realized other acclaimed directors such as Paul Thomas Anderson (The Master), Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty), and Quentin Tarantino (Django Unchained) weren’t nominated as well, which made him think it was just a very tough year in the best director category.
