21 and Over (Warner Bros. Pictures, CR: John Johnson)

The Hangover writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore attempt to prove their directing mettle as they both are behind the camera for the highly anticipated teen comedy 21 and Over.  Although the trailers heavily feature the male leads (Miles Teller, Skylar Astin, Justin Chon), the film also lets other actors have their moment in the sun.  Actress Sarah Wright, who plays a playfully sarcastic girl who bonds with Casey (Astin), is pretty psyched she landed this surprisingly meaty part (she says her character ends up being “one of the group”).

“Normally they give roles like this to name-ier girls,” said Wright, whose credits include stints on Parks and Recreation and the short-lived series Mad Love.  “If there is a role this big and a script this great, you’re going to lose out to someone who already has a name and I later found out (from the directors) that’s not what they wanted.  They wanted to find what they thought were the best people for the roles and they wanted to make a movie not just necessarily with people who had a name but with who they exactly wanted.”
