Finally opening in theaters later this year, ON THE ROAD is the much anticipated big screen adaptation of the classic JACK KEROUAC novel that was met with solid critical response at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. Directed by WALTER SALLES from a script by JOSE RIVERA, the cast includes GARRETT HEDLUND, KRISTEN STEWART, AMY ADAMS, STEVE BUSCEMI, KIRSTEN DUNST, ELISABETH MOSS and VIGGO MORTENSEN.
A long-time fan of KEROUAC’s iconic novel, STEWART also listened to tapes used by author GERALD NICOSSIA in the writing of ONE AND ONLY, the definitive biography of LuAnne Henderson, the young woman STEWART’S character was modeled on. During our recent interview, the actress talked about how important that research was to her performance. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)

I tried to read that book but kept falling asleep, boring, and the author, tiresome. He could have made that hooker, LuAnne Henderson an interesting character as Kerouac did in his book “On the Road” but unfortunately he is no writer.
