After spending a reported $10 m on the pilot for a reboot of the 1960’s TV high-camp classic THE MUNSTERS, NBC essentially dumped the project as a ‘Halloween Special’ and MOCKINGBIRD LANE is as dead as most of the characters in the story. Co-written and directed by BRYAN FULLER, the cast included JERRY O’CONNELL and PORTIA DE ROSSI as Herman and Lily Munster, EDDIE IZZARD as Grandpa, CHARITY WAKEFIELD as Marilyn and MASON COOK as Eddie. Stylishly designed but featuring a muddled plot and a lack of focus, it became pretty obvious while viewing that this wasn’t destined to go to series.
We sat down with EDDIE IZZARD a few days ago to talk about his upcoming filmed comedy WHAT ABOUT DICK? and he took a moment to address a question about the fate of MOCKINGBIRD LANE. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
WHAT ABOUT DICK will be available via digital download 11/13
