Making its network debut this week on ABC-TV, the new sitcom MALIBU COUNTRY centers on a former country-western singer who divorces her philandering superstar husband and moves with kids and cantankerous mom from Nashville to Southern California in the hopes of revitalizing her recording career. Shot old-school style with three cameras and a live audience, the series is a showcase vehicle for star REBA McENTIRE and features a back-up cast that includes LILY TOMLIN, SARA RUE and JAI RODRIGUEZ.
Seen most recently on such dramatic shows as DAMAGES and BREAKING BAD, it’s nice to see iconic actress LILY TOMLIN return to her comedy roots playing REBA’s pot-smoking, voice-of-reason mother. During our recent interview at a Television Critics Association press event, TOMLIN talked about getting booked on the show.
