In the upcoming drama FLIGHT, a heroic pilot who saved a plane full of survivors is taken to task when it’s discovered he was under the influence of chemical substances at the time of the crash. An intense character study peppered with dynamic performances, FLIGHT feels like the kind of film destined for award recognition. Directed by ROBERT ZEMECKIS from a script by JOHN GATINS, the cast includes DENZEL WASHINGTON, KELLY REILLY, JOHN GOODMAN, MELISSA LEO, BRUCE GREENWOOD and DON CHEADLE.
At last week’s press conference to promote the film, writer JOHN GATINS talked about his own experience with addiction and how what we see on screen isn’t far from what we read in the headlines. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
FLIGHT opens in theaters 11/2
