We caught up with TOM HANKS a couple of days ago to talk about his upcoming sci-fi epic CLOUD ATLAS and get the latest update on his plans for a Broadway debut early next year. Written by the late NORA EPHRON (a long-time pal and collaborator), LUCKY GUY is a drama inspired by the career of MIKE McALARY, a controversial tabloid reporter who won a Pulitzer Prize in 1998 for a series of New York Daily News columns on Haitian immigrant ABNER LOUIMA. Set to be directed by Tony Award-winner GEORGE C. WOLFE (ANGELS IN AMERICA: MILLENNIUM APPROACHES, BRING IN ‘DA NOISE-BRING IN ‘DA FUNK), the show sounds like a good fit for HANKS and, during our interview, he was his usual charming, affable self while talking about it.
