The X Factor transitions from boot camp to the judges’ homes starting tonight, as the remaining singers are a step closer to realizing their dreams. Each of the judges will be paired with a music artist to help them groom the performers: Simon Cowell gets Marc Anthony, Justin Bieber and talent manager Scooter Braun join L.A. Reid, Nick Jonas reunites with old friend Demi Lovato, and will.i.am. helps out Britney Spears.
Since Reid and Cowell are experienced mentors on The X Factor, they should have a leg up over newbie judges Demi Lovato and Britney Spears. Lovato says she has had the “mentor” hat on since the audition rounds and is ready to take on the singers during the home visits. (Click on the media bar below to hear Demi Lovato)
For Spears, sending singers home, and in effect temporarily crushing their dreams, will not be an easy job. The “Toxic” singer, although a pretty candid judge, has also show a bit of teary eyed emotion during the season. (Click on the media bar below to hear Britney Spears
Even with the addition of Lovato and Spears, the man guided The X Factor momentum train is television mastermind Simon Cowell. In the following audio clip, Cowell, who mentored last year’s winner Melanie Amaro, explains why he chose Marc Anthony as a guest mentor. (Click on the media bar to hear Cowell)
The X Factor airs tonight and tomorrow night on FOX starting at 8 pm et/pt. Who are your favorite singers on the show? As far as last week’s head to head round, I loved Carly Rose Sonenclar and Beatrice Miller match-up. Here’s their rendition of “Pumped Up Kicks.”
