Currently in theaters (and in the weekend box office top five), FRANKENWEENIE is the 30-years-in-the-making passion project of filmmaker TIM BURTON and a true artistic labor of love. A 3D, stop-motion animated expansion of a live-action short film he did back in 1984. FRANKENWEENIE is the story of an unusual reunion between a boy and his dog and features the voice talents of WINONA RYDER, MARTIN LANDAU, CHRISTOPHER LEE, CATHERINE O’HARA, MARTIN SHORT and CONCHATA FERRELL.
This is WINONA RYDER’S third collaboration with BURTON (after BEETLEJUICE and EDWARD SCISSORHANDS) and she’s not shy about crediting him with giving her the break she needed to hit the big time. We sat down with RYDER and LANDAU last week and they both spoke with admiration about the visionary filmmaker.
