Finally opening in limited release today, THE PAPERBOY proved to be a love-it-or-hate-it experience for audiences at the Toronto International Film Festival not expecting the violence and overt sexuality depicted on screen. Based on the novel by PETE DEXTER, it’s set in Florida circa 1969 and centered on a journalist and his younger brother investigating the wrongful condemnation of a man convicted of murder.
Directed by LEE DANIELS, the cast includes MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY, NICOLE KIDMAN, ZAC EFRON, JOHN CUSACK, SCOTT GLENN and MACY GRAY.
Facing entertainment reporters at a TIFF press conference, MACY GRAY explained the high points of THE PAPERBOY. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
