Airing tonight and tomorrow night on PBS, HALF THE SKY is a special presentation of the award-winning documentary series INDEPENDENT LENS and focuses on the oppression of women and girls in several countries around the world. Based on the best selling book by NICHOLAS D. KRISTOF and SHERYL WuDUNN, the film features a cast of notable women traveling the world calling attention to various women’s issues of physical and psychological abuse. Among those in the cast are EVA MENDES, OLIVIA WILDE, DIANE LANE, MEG RYAN, GABRIELLE UNION and AMERICA FERRERA.
