Opening in limited release today, DIANA VREELAND: THE EYE HAS TO TRAVEL is an entertaining and informative documentary that chronicles the life and career of the mid-century fashionista who became one of the most influential trendsetters of our lifetime. An editor of both HARPER’S BAZAAR and VOGUE as well as masterminding the costume department of New York’s Metropolitan Museum Of Art, DIANA VREELAND was one of the most prominent figures of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. Unknown to so many of today’s so-called “fashionistas”, VREELAND was a force who should be studied by anyone claiming to know style. We spoke recently with filmmaker LISA IMMORDINO VREELAND who talked about DIANA’S grasp of both high and low culture.
