Opening in limited release later this week, DIANA VREELAND: THE EYE HAS TO TRAVEL is an entertaining and informative documentary focused on one of the most influential trendsetters of our lifetime. An editor of both HARPER’S BAZAAR and VOGUE as well as masterminding the costume division of New York’s Metropolitian Museum Of Art, DIANA VREELAND created a personality and presence as large as the canvas of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s would allow. Unknown to so many of today’s so-called “fashionistas”, VREELAND was a force who should be studied by anyone claiming to know style. We spoke recently with filmmaker LISA IMMORDINO VREELAND about the film and her subject’s place on the fashion landscape.
