New Girl (CR: Dewey Nicks/FOX)The Fall TV season is upon us, and FOX continues to give viewers highly entertaining and dependable programming, thanks to the return of Bones and the intricately plotted Fringe. The Office’s Mindy Kaling is front and center with her new sitcom The Mindy Project and one of Alfred Hitchcock’s leading ladies (Tippi Hedren) pops up on Raising Hope (along with daughter Melanie Griffith). It should be another solid year for the network, even though House is history. Here’s a look at some of the shows you can look forward to:

Masterchef (CR: Brian Bowen Smith/FOX)Bones (September 17th, 8/7 central) - It’s hard to find a twosome who have better chemistry on television than Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, and their back and forth banter is what makes Bones an engaging show as it enters its eighth season. This season may be a bit darker, as Bones (Deschanel) is the prime suspect in a murder investigation.

David Boreanaz, who plays FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, says it’s been a pleasure to work with Emily Deschanel. (Click on the media bar below to hear David Boreanaz).

The Mob Doctor (CR: Mathieu Young/FOX)

The Mob Doctor (September 17th, 9/8 central) - Any show which has the potential to mix the Goodfellas and Grey’s Anatomy is worth of a look, but who knows if that’s the intent behind The Mob Doctor, a Chicago set drama centering on a doctor (Jordana Spiro) torn between two worlds. Spiro gives us the details on her character Grace Devlin. (Click on the media bar below to hear Spiro).

Ben and Kate (CR: Miranda Penn Turin/FOX)

Ben and Kate (September 25th, 8:30/7:30 central) - Although Nat Faxon worked on FOX’s short-lived animated series Allen Gregory and received an Oscar nomination as a co-writer on The Descendants, his visibility will dramatically increase this year as a cast member on Ben and Kate. The show focuses on the loving yet eccentric bond between siblings (Dakota Johnson, Nat Faxon). Co-star Dakota Johnson, whose father is Miami Vice star Don Johnson, talks about the premise of the show. (Click on the media bar below to hear Dakota Johnson).

The Mindy Project (Cr: Warwick Saint/FOX)

The Mindy Project (September 25th, 9:30/8:30 central) - Mindy Kaling is hilarious in The Office, but can she carry her own sitcom? Created and co-written by Kaling, the sitcom is hoping to reach similar heights to last year’s New Girl, the FOX sitcom that turned Zooey Deschanel into a TV darling.

The Mindy Project, although filled with snarky and off the cuff humor, originated from an extremely personal place, as the program is inspired by Kaling’s late mother. (Click on the media bar below to hear Mindy Kaling)

Fringe (September 28th, 9/8 central) - One of television’s most complex shows comes to a close, as Fringe ends its run after five seasons. The brainchild of J.J. Abrams and screenwriters/TV producers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the show has built a steady and devoted fan base over the years.

As for the new season - it is now 2036 as the Fringe team (Jasika Nicole, Joshua Jackson, Georgina Haig) are searching for Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv). Series regular Joshua Jackson, who plays Peter Bishop on the show, is highly content with the program’s finale. (Click on the media bar below to hear Joshua Jackson)
