Despite the tragedy of the recent death of composer MARVIN HAMLISCH, the show must go on for his last stage production, a musical adaptation of the big-screen JERRY LEWIS classic comedy THE NUTTY PROFESSOR. Recently wrapping an engagement at Nashville’s James K. Polk Theater under the direction of the legendary JERRY LEWIS himself, the show continues the long, slow march to Broadway. With music by HAMLISCH, a book and lyrics by RUPERT HOLMES and a mostly unknown cast, the show is the fulfillment of a promise that was made years ago when it was first announced to fans and skeptics.
The revival of THE NUTTY PROFESSOR reminded us that it wasn’t too long ago we interviewed ’60s sex kitten and co-star in the original version, STELLA STEVENS, about her role in the iconic film. It came as no surprise that she was filled with fond memories. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
