Another successful behind-the-scenes show business satire, Showtime’s EPISODES, enjoys a finale tonight. Wrapping up its second season, EPISODES is the brainchild of JEFFREY KLARIK and DAVID CRANE, whose biting comedy about a successful Brit series trying to make the transition to American audiences skewers the TV industry and the people who inhabit it. Employing a delightful cast that includes STEPHEN MANGAN, TAMSIN GREIG, JOHN PANKOW, KATHLEEN ROSE PERKINS, MIRCEA MONROE and (a brilliant) MATT LeBLANC, the show gets away with murder in biting the hand that feeds it. Off-color and irreverent, EPISODES could only survive on cable and, during a recent Television Critics Association press conference, KLARIK and CRANE admitted that taking the show to one of the networks was never even a consideration.
