Currently in limited theatrical release as well as being available via VOD, SIDE BY SIDE is a first-rate documentary (hosted and co-produced by KEANU REEVES) on the subject of digital technology as it pertains to contemporary filmmaking. Sure to get some attention come awards season, the film features interviews with a collection of filmmakers that includes such heavyweights as LANA and ANDY WACHOWSKI, BARRY LEVINSON, LENA DUNHAM, DANNY BOYLE and GEORGE LUCAS (to name just a few).
Notoriously camera-shy and reluctant to do interviews, LANA and ANDY WACHOWSKI were a major casting coup for REEVES (even though they’d worked together on theĀ MATRIX films). During our recent interview, he talked about getting them to agree to help out on the project.
SIDE BY SIDE is in limited theatrical release and available now via VOD

I think it is the same with any industry (or friendship, for that matter), if someone knows you and understands your reasons, they’ll trust you & perhaps provide opportunities that wouldn’t be available to others. There’s a beautiful balance at play in these kinds of relationships - intergrity, caring & trust, which tempers sheer cheekiness and pushing the boundaries to learn more about the world. Nice work, K.
