Returning tonight for its second season on STARZ, the popular political drama BOSS picks up where season one left off and promises to escalate the suspense as corrupt Chicago mayor Tom Kane faces the personal and professional crises that come attached to a broken marriage, political foes and a degenerative brain disease. Created by FARHAD SAFINIA, the cast features KELSEY GRAMMER, CONNIE NIELSEN and HANNAH WARE as well as newcomers JONATHAN GROFF and SANAA LATHAN. Probably best known to TV fans for his comedic roles, this return to drama for GRAMMER has been completely embraced by viewers. At the recent Television Critics Association press conference to promote the series, GRAMMER talked about the reaction he gets from man-on-the-street fan encounters. Boss is a fantastic show in that it’s dark and gritty, but not so much that it puts you off. I wouldn’t miss season two for anything. So in preparation, I upgraded to the new Hopper DVR over the summer which was suggested by a Dish co-worker. It was a fantastic idea because now I have 2,000 hours of recording time available. It even got me through the Olympics! It also comes with three tuners which means that I can record more things at the same time. I wanted to make sure that I have enough space for this awesome show. I’m sure that this season Kane will only tighten his grip on his position and on his beloved O’Hare expansion project. Someone must have guessed by now that maybe there is something going on with him; maybe they think he’s crazy? Seriously, I don’t think he’ll be able to keep his secret much longer. I’m excited to see some new characters this season as well.
