Available today on DVD and Blu-ray, season one of the NBC-TV fantasy series GRIMM is a show bent on putting a modern spin on classic fairy tales. At its core, a contemporary police procedural that incorporates supernatural elements via a detective who discovers he’s descended from a long line of “hunters” able to recognize creatures recreating fairy tale crimes in our world, it’s a nicely crafted drama infused with a fair amount of humor that proved a high-concept show could pay-off for those willing to check it out. Produced by WILL & GRACE star SEAN HAYES, the series stars DAVID GIUNTOLI and RUSSELL HORNSBY.

Season one of Grimm was very entertaining and you can really see the growth the show has achieved so far. The concept behind this show isn’t a new one but it is well-written. I haven’t seen all of the episodes from season one and I’m not sure if I want to buy it on Blu-ray. A Dish co-worker suggested trying Blockbuster @ Home since it’s cheaper. It allows me to put movies, TV shows and games into my queue and then I get them by mail. That way I don’t have to leave house to buy or rent stuff. My goal is to catch up on season one completely before season two premieres on Monday night. Maybe some more of Nick’s part will come to light since his mother is alive.
