This Fall, ABC seems to have one of the best new shows coming to television. The drama/musical Nashville is winning critics over. The series is about an iconic country music star played by Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights & American Horror Story), whose career is in a downward spiral. Her producers offer her a joint tour with an up-and-comer played by Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), the young and sexy future of country music. Both singers are going after the ultimate goal of being the top star.
Both Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton sing in the series, and many infer that Panetierre’s inspiration for her character is country music superstar Taylor Swift, while Britton based her character on Reba McEntire.
Today at the Television Critics Association in Beverly Hills, CA, both actresses were asked if they actually based their characters on those two music superstars.
