According to Deadline.com, JJ Abrams will produce the Universal Pictures movie Earthquake. Rumors claim that this is not a remake of the hit 1974 feature which starred Charlton Heston and Ava Gardner. Dustin Lance Black, the Oscar winning writer behind the 2009 biopic Milk, has been enlisted to pen the screenplay. Abrams is adept at high concept far, as he’s directed Star Trek (and its upcoming sequel), MI: 3, and last summer’s coming of age/alien project Super 8.
