Of the characters that exist in the universe of DC comic book hero BATMAN, no one more represents a father figure to troubled billionaire Bruce Wayne than Alfred Pennyworth, the loyal family retainer under whose guidance and watchful eye Gotham City’s most famous vigilante was born. In CHRISTOPHER NOLAN’S brilliant DARK KNIGHT trilogy, the role of Alfred is played by Academy Award-winning actor MICHAEL CAINE and in the upcoming finale, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, the relationship between Alfred and Bruce is put to the ultimate test.
During a recent press conference to promote the film, CAINE talked about the role and how he sees Alfred’s place in the DARK KNIGHT world. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
