In telling a tale that deals with the cold-blooded violence associated with the Mexican drug cartels wreaking havoc in this country, director OLIVER STONE turned to author DON WINSLOW’S best-selling novel SAVAGES as his source material. Centered on a family of SoCal marijuana farmers forced to go toe-to-toe with a cartel wanting to take over their business, the film paints a brutal picture of the modern drug world. Co-written (with WINSLOW and SHANE SALERNO) and directed by STONE, the cast includes TAYLOR KITSCH, AARON JOHNSON, BLAKE LIVELY, JOHN TRAVOLTA, SALMA HAYEK, EMILE HIRSCH, BENICIO DEL TORO and JOEL DAVID MOORE.
