brave15 Pixar’s storied run continues with its latest animation hit “Brave,” which had a stellar box office debut, taking in $66.7 million.   Checking in at a distant second was “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” with a $20.2 million take, followed by the weak opening of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” ($16.5 million).

Steve Carell and Keira Knightley failed to entice audiences with “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World,” as the film limped to a 10th place finish with a meager $3.84 million.  Here’s the top 10:

1.  Brave - $66.7 million

2.  Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted -$20.2 million

3.  Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter - $16.5 million

4.  Prometheus - $10 million

5.  Rock of Ages - $8 million

6.  Snow White and the Huntsman - $8 million

7.  That’s My Boy - $7.9 million

8.  The Avengers - $7.04 million

9.  MIB 3 - $5.6 million

10.  Seeking a Friend for the End of the World - $3.84 million
