We sat down a few days ago with writing partners ROBERTO ORCI and ALEX KURTZMAN to talk about their upcoming film PEOPLE LIKE US and (hopefully) get some info on their much anticipated sequel to STAR TREK. PEOPLE LIKE US was inspired by events in KURTZMAN’S own life and he makes his directorial debut on the feature that stars CHRIS PINE, ELIZABETH BANKS, MICHELLE PFEIFFER and MICHAEL HALL D’ADDARIO.
Set for release in May of next year, the UNTITLED STAR TREK SEQUEL remains shrouded in mystery. We do know that BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH (BBC’s Sherlock Holmes) has signed on to play the villainous Kahn and J.J. ABRAMS is still on board to direct. Of the script, ORCI did confess that he and KURTZMAN didn’t want to put pen to paper until they’d had time to carefully contemplate where the story should go. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
