Finally arriving in theaters today, DARK SHADOWS is the highly hyped big screen adaptation of the goofy daytime soap opera first introduced in the late ’60s. Centered on Barnabas Collins, a vampire who wakes up in 1972 from a 200 year nap, the film is a weird comedy/horror hybrid that sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. That said, the movie never disappoints in the areas of style and design. Beautifully imagined, it’s a true feast for the eyes.
At a recent press conference, DEPP talked about where the idea to recreate DARK SHADOWS came from and how he, BURTON and screenwriter SETH GRAHAME-SMITH approached the project. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
