dem61With the overwhelming success of the Disney Epic Mickey videogame, Disney Interactive Media Group is developing the sequel Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two.  Set for a fall release on the Nintendo Wii, the title is also expanding its scope with a release for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles.

The new story enables gamers to play as Mickey Mouse and Disney’s first cartoon star, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.  Emmy winning composer James Dooley, who worked on Disney Epic Mickey, is collaborating with lyricist Mike Himelstein to provide music for The Power of Two, which will give players, according to the press release, a chance to express “themselves in song, with all original music and lyrics.”

“In the first Disney Epic Mickey title, fans embraced Mickey as a true video game hero and welcomed Oswald back into the Disney family with open arms,” said Disney Interactive Media Group President John Pleasants.  “Now, as the vision for the franchise advances, fans and gamers across all platforms will experience completely new ways to embrace the immeasurable vault of Disney characters and attractions.”
