Opening in theaters this weekend, JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND is a follow-up to the popular 2008 family adventure JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH. This time around, an adventurous teen and his step-father are joined by a risk-taking helicopter pilot and his beautiful daughter as they follow distress signals from a South Pacific island that doesn’t exist on any map. Directed by BRAD PEYTON and (very) loosely based on a novel by JULES VERNE, the cast includes DWAYNE JOHNSON, JOSH HUTCHERSON, LUIS GUZMAN, VANESSA HUDGENS, MICHAEL CAINE and KRISTIN DAVIS.

A story of adventure in exotic settings, the film was largely shot on location in Hawaii making the decision to sign-on pretty easy for JOHNSON.
