NUP_147521_0003.JPG In the past decade Josh Lucas has starred in his share of studio features (Sweet Home Alabama, Stealth, Hulk, Poseideon) and has also turned in excellent work in indie, character driven pieces (David Gordon Green’s heartbreaking and compelling drama Undertow comes to mind), but now he’s ventured into the TV world with The Firm.

It’s a huge challenge to play lawyer Mitch McDeere, since Tom Cruise made a huge impression as McDeere in the original film (which is based on John Grisham’s bestseller).  During the Television Critics Association tour, I asked Mr. Lucas why McDeere always seems to be literally running away from something.  Thankfully, he took my running question in stride (and with a little humor).  Click on the media bar to hear Lucas talk about all that running in The Firm:

A new episode of The Firm airs Thursday night (NBC, 10 pm et/pt).
