Currently in limited release, EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE centers on a precocious 11-year-old New York City boy on a quest to come to terms with the death of his father in the World Trade Center terrorist attacks of 9/11/01. Directed by three-time Oscar-nominee ROGER DALDRY, the cast includes Oscar-winners TOM HANKS and SANDRA BULLOCK along with young newcomer THOMAS HORN.
Making his acting debut(his only other on-screen appearance was as a winning contestant on KID JEOPARDY), HORN manages to steal almost every scene he’s in and made a formidable impression on BULLOCK (who plays his grieving mother). Perhaps it was her own childhood performing career that put her in synch with HORN and during the recent press conference to promote the film, she recalled her early start in show biz.
